Finite-Element Analysis

NISA-Composites

Engineering Mechanics Research Corporation

NISA-Composites is a state-of-the-art finite-element program for static, dynamic, buckling, and heat transfer analysis of structures made ofcomposite materials. All elements available in NISA II are available inNISA-Composites.Layered composite shell elements include laminated, orthotropic, linear, and parabolic shell elements; they are not restricted in the number oflayers, thicknesses, orientation, and material properties. Transverse(interlaminar) shear deformation and bending extensional coupling areincluded. In sandwich shell composite elements, the thin face sheets resistextensional and inplane shear deformation and thick core materialresists transverse shear. Face sheets can be laminated composites, andthe core can be orthotropic. Multiple cores are possible, and thesandwich construction need not be symmetrical.
